Inwiefern kann durch VR Architekturkommunikation und -vermittlung im analogen Raum verbessert werden? Welche neuen Berufs- und Aufgabenfelder, Handlungsräume, aber auch Verantwortlichkeiten eröffnen sich durch die Digitalisierung für Gestalter*innen? Dieses Impuls-Panel beleuchtet die aktuelle Praxis des digitalen Designs.

Eng: Who actually designs the metaspace in the metaverse and what role do architects play in it? To what extent can VR improve architectural communication and communication in analogue space? What new professional and task areas, scope for action, but also responsibilities are opening up for designers through digitalization? This impulse panel highlights the current practice of digital design.

Helmut Kinzler presented the latest developments in immersive collaborative design at the Digital Architecture Panel of the DigitalBau conference.On this special occasion, Helmut was also interviewed by Professor Christiane Fath, Visiting Professor at RPTU Kaiserslautern and head of C.Fath, a Berlin based interdisciplinary platform for architecture communication. As much of our social lives migrate onto digital platforms, architects are engaging in the definition of these emerging centers of public interaction.

As the traditional shapers of our public realm, the building of these new digital worlds benefit from the knowledge and capacities brought to it by the architectural discipline. These new forums for social exchange and collaboration present designers with a novel medium where established architectural practice may extend its capacities while simultaneously presenting unfamiliar challenges.

Drawing from the creative experiences of the speakers, the panel engages in a discussion about building this new world of digital social spaces.
