Risa Tadauchi, Senior Designer, joined ZHVR Group in 2017 and has since been a core member of the team involved in leading and coordinating VR research projects such as Spatial Matrix, Project Correl 1.0, and NEW WORLDS. In her current role Risa develops storyboards, prototypes, and content for VR using game engines.
Early Work

The project, Intimacy Landscape Mountain Lodges, was initiated to design mountain lodges exploring haptic experiential quality in architecture at an extreme environment (high altitude of Andes mountain region in Peru). The lodges look into a narrative and form finding based design approach corresponding to the existing geometrical and material characteristics of the site.
A series of materials and textures, such as glossiness, roughness, fluffiness and jelly-like, were experimented to explore the expression, malleability and adaptation of the architectural body to the site. Human body engagement, interaction and responses aspects are studied to enable both the design and the users to coexist in the harsh environment. The lodges also contextualises the concept further using local materials investigating a cultural junction between city life of the tourists and the natural ecosystem of the Andes.
Other projects by the author look into colours, patterns, uncanny or fantasied expressions and moments transforming into architectural programs, functionalities and special events.
